Town of Smithfield
The Town of Smithfield works to assist businesses in ways consistent with its strategic plan. Providing user-friendly access to permitting and zoning assistance is a key service to new and growing businesses.
Smithfield also encourages business growth through locally based programs and partnerships with State and Federal resources including:
- Smithfield RIMES Partnership - providing free competitive reviews for Smithfield manufacturing firms.
- Smithfield Revolving Loan Fund - provides loans to assist Smithfield businesses to expand, purchase equipment, and create jobs for residents. Any Smithfield business with less than $1,000,000 in projected annual gross revenue and no more than 50 employees may qualify. Information regarding other sources of loans and financing are also available.
- Smithfield Economic Development Commission - publishes quarterly newsletters and holds periodic business learning and advocacy forums.
