City of East Providence
The City of East Providence works to assist businesses in ways consistent with its strategic plan.
Providing user-friendly access to permitting and zoning assistance is a key service to new and growing businesses.
East Providence has a diverse tool set with which to encourage business development including:
- Commercial Loan Program - for new and existing businesses; funds available for businesses to purchase equipment and buildings and to make improvements.
- Micro-loan Program - for Start-up businesses with under five employees; business loans available at prime plus 1%; there are some location and income requirements for participation
- Enterprise Zone Program - businesses located within designated enterprise zones may qualify for various tax credits linked to job creation.
