Rhode Island OSHA Consultation Program

Federal OSHA, in partnership with the Rhode Island, Office of Occupational Health, designed and funded the Consultation Program to provide expert advice to small businesses that want help in maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.

This service is penalty free, and at no cost for small and medium-size businesses, (up to 250 employees at a single site also completely confidential. No information is shared with any other agencies. Services, include: Helping you recognize hazards in your workplace, Suggest approaches or options for solving a safety or health problem, Assist you in developing or maintaining an effective safety and health program, Offer training and education for you and your employees at your workplace free of charge, Conduct atmospheric testing to determine the safety of your workplace air quality, and possible Recommend you for recognition by OSHA's Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) exempting you for up to two years from federal OSHA programmed inspections.
