The Town of West Warwick works to assist businesses in ways consistent with its strategic plan.
Providing user-friendly access to permitting and zoning assistance is a key service to new and growing businesses.
The Town Planner is available to refer potential businesses to available properties based on their spatial and locational needs.
Key Business Initiatives:
- Municipal Tax Incentives - which provide for a phased 6-year, 0%-100% property tax liability associated with the reassessed value of abandoned and blighted commercial renovations, including the West Warwick Industrial Park
- Abandoned Mill Properties - includes negotiated concessions applied to taxes and liens in arrears; customized future tax liability concessions; technical/financial assistance associated with Brownfields cleanup, expedited permit review and grants
The Town provides connections to state and federal agencies to provide Enterprise Zone and Mill Buildings tax incentive programs and Historic Tax Credits.
